Job Description
Mechanical System Design & Engineering Analysis
Apply mechanical engineering principles to support the design and evaluation of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, process cooling systems, exhaust systems, and mechanical utility distribution networks.
Perform engineering calculations related to fluid flow, heat transfer, pressure drop, and system capacity.
Review and develop mechanical design documentation including P&IDs, equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
Evaluate system integration requirements for facility expansions and equipment installations.
Analyze system performance data and recommend engineering improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes and standards including ASME, ASHRAE, NFPA, and relevant building codes.
Engineering Evaluation & System Optimization
Conduct engineering assessments of piping systems, mechanical equipment, and air handling infrastructure.
Apply root cause analysis methodologies to mechanical system performance issues.
Develop engineered solutions to address system inefficiencies or design limitations.
Support evaluation of equipment selection and mechanical system modifications.
Engineering Oversight & Technical Coordination
Provide engineering oversight during system installation and commissioning to ensure alignment with design specifications.
Review contractor submittals and engineering change documentation for technical accuracy.
Verify mechanical installations conform to approved engineering drawings and standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams within the facility
Safety & Compliance
Apply engineering judgment to ensure mechanical systems meet applicable safety and regulatory standards.
Participate in engineering risk assessments and management of change processes.
Support implementation of safety-by-design principles within mechanical system layouts.
Bachelors degree (or Licenciatura) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience performing mechanical engineering design, analysis, or system evaluation in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
Experience applying engineering codes and standards such as ASME, ASHRAE, or NFPA.
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent tools.
Fluent English communication skills suitable for technical documentation and collaboration.
